So my Syno hybrid had been hiding for 2 days and when I removed the rocks to find him...i noticed he has some bad news bears ICK. I guess he hadnt been real active for 2 days proir to the hiding. SO i pulled him from the tank and put him in a hospital tank I have going. I also noticed a small abrasion on his left side. So he most likey sustained an injury that allowed the protozoans to multiply. I am adding salt, increasing the temp, and using a 1/4 dose of victoria green. I will let you know how it works. You guys tell me how you have treated your synos.

Thanks

Hi. Sounds like you're doing everything right.

It does look a bit like velvet (Oodinium) to me though.

Good luck :D

Your right, that pic makes the spots look goldish in color. And it very well could be Oodinium. Either way I belive the treatment is the same. I could(should)look at the organism under the microscope.

I always use a half-dose treatment of Quick Cure. It takes longer, but it normally does the trick if you catch it early enough.
