Any idea what this is?





It comes and goes. Not responding to salt dips or parasitic treatments. I scraped one of the little thread things off and had a look through a microscope and it has no structure. Just a bundle of cells, bit like a bath sponge only white.

All the zygatus in this tank can have it at one time or another as well as my brochis in another tank. (Though I've not seen it on the brochis for several months). The fish pictured was tank bred in the tank it still lives in.

I've experienced something similar. I used Flubenol powder with good results.

Have you considered Lymphocystis as a possibility? Fish with healthy immune systems can deal with it and as a virus any apparent reponse to treatment is coincidental.
It sure looked like that is what I see from the photos although close ups would help determine if it is Lymphocystis or not.
