Callichthys callichthys

After many years Callichthys callichthys returned on a wholesalers list so I ordered some for they would make a nice asset to my large tank. Now let's hope they won't be Lepthoplosternum pectorale, as happened some years ago.
I'll keep you posted.

They are fairly tasty but not alot of meat.

I have a friend from Trinidad and he cooked us some for dinner a few years ago.

And what I feared has happened: they are Lepthoplosternum pectorale.... That's a bummer. I didn't buy them. Been fooled once and way too small to eat
