I bought a Bushy Nose Pleco on Saturday and put it in a 1 gal. desktop aquarium which I had running for a couple of days. The temp. in there is about 70 degrees and it has an undergravel filter. The fish seems ok, no signs of ich or anything, but I don't think it's eating. Each night I drop an algae wafer in the tank and in the morning it lies dissolved on the tank floor. I don't think the fish is eating any of it. My plan was to keep it in the isolation tank for two weeks, but if it won't eat I'm afraid it won't survive. Suggestions or comments?
(I know - I should have bought a 5 gal. with a heater)

I would not worry too much. I normally do not feed new fishes for the first 2-3 days. This helps them settle a bit and stimulates their appetite so they will adapt to, what may be for them, new foods.
Try not feeding for 2-3 days and then add some vegetables.

If it's in the 70's, rather than 70'F, than I'd say it's fine.

You can keep these fish without food for some time, no big problem - even a couple of weeks would probably work. But as Shane says, it's best to avoid feeding the fish for the first few days, as the fish will probably be to stressed to eat anyways.
