Ancistrus sp. Rio Guapore

is there anyone on this forum there by any chance have further pictures or information of subject?

Nah sorry its the only one I have, I was always inder the impression it was a female L182, Starlight Bristlenose Pleco although it does say that females dont have bristles.I actually bought it as a common bristle(I had no idea at the time).

He/she eats mostly veggies(esp zuccini) and is quite friendly to other pl*cos letting my common bristles eat from the same piece of zucc.

As always when dealing with Ancistrus there's a lot of confusion - or more correctly: I'm confused - I don't know the facts regarding subject.
I don't know if L182 = starlight = Ancistrus punctatus = Ancistrus sp. cf. hoplogenys and I don't know if we're dealing with one or two sp. (or even more) from Rio Branco and/or Rio Guapore. Your Ancistrus looks a lot like the fish illustrated as Ancistrus punctatus @ ICOSA:

but I don't think they match the pictures of L182 @ Cat-eLog (or at least not all the pictures). And Aqualog doesn't help a bit (and Aqualog can't be trusted).
I suspect the females have bristles contrary to the information in Cat-eLog.
I have 10 newly imported fish from Brazil (the exporter sold them as A. hoplogenys, and I wasn't able to get further information regarding origin) of different sizes (approx. 7-13 cm) that looks like your fish. They all have more or less bristles, but none have bristles up the middle of the nose - not even the ones that otherwise looks like males.

Any help/comments?

Well I think mine is female going by the body shape, its more of a chocolate brown colour but will fade to darkish green when stressed.She has got a lot more active lately since I added a male common bristle.In fact she seems very interested in him....
