What am I missing?

I just set up this 20L for some Ancistrus. What can you see (besides fish) that I am missing?

They have spawned in this cave before so I know they like it.

Looks good to me.

I would probably add a few more hiding spaces, just to give them a choice... The male and the female needs "separate" hiding places until the spawn, and you never really know what the male will like and dislike when it comes to spawning site...

I agree with MatsP, it looks good but some more hiding places wouldn't hurt.
Mine Ancistrus had never chosen a spawing site with a good view from my perspective :(

I would add a black or dark coloured backing. Material, paper, plastic - whatever you can get your hands on.

It will make the tank look 100 times better, and the fish will feel more at home.

How about adding some tetras or pencilfish to brighten up the midwater?

I couldn't agree more. It still strikes me that so many people do not have a background.
I would also change some pieces of wood, for instance put one straight up. It'll look different, especially because the decorations and the plants are all more or less in the same layer at the moment.
