Hello people.

My 40 gallon octagon tank was finally ready for me to stock it with some exciting plecos. I was going to go and buy about 5 different kinds of baby pleco to keep in the tank until i would upgrade them to a 180gallon (have an arowana and 2 pacus in my other tank that will go in there as well). I went to a petstore and i just had to buy this toadfish they had on sale (never seen one before). They fish store guy told me that id have to put salt in the tank, but that plecos should be fine. The more i research this toadfish the more i notice that is IS a brackish fish and that i would have to keep it in true brackish conditions. I REALLY want a pleco tank so i was wondering if my plecos would do alright in a brackish tank?

Baby Plecos i have in mind until the are put in the 180 are:

2 royal pleco
rhino pleco
rubber pleco
one more exotic kind pleco

ADVICE please?!?
thanks

I'm afraid you are going to choose between the plecos or the toadfish.

I would think amount of salt required by the toadfish is way above that tolerated by wild caught plecos.

Try it by all means, but don't be surprised if they die.
