Hi all.

Mark Soberman and I have just obtained a group of . Mark called it to my attention that the Cat-eLog lists the size of this species as "45 mm (1.8") SL". According to information in the revision of this genus (published in 2004) the maximium recorded size for the species is 383 mm SL.

I have updated the size - I verified with Fishbase that it's definitely not 45mm size for this fish.

But Fishbase also shows up another potential bug: Fishbase and Catalog Of Fishes puts this in Bagridae, whilst Cat-eLog has it in Clarotidae. I think Jools needs to fix this (I haven't got access to the bits of Cat-eLog to change that)

Family for Parauchenoglanis

Hi MatsP.

Thanks for taking care of the size consideration.

Re family name: Although the family name Claroteidae is in wide usage (for most of the formerly African bagrid catfishes) there are apparently those who disagree. If one genus was to be moved to Bagridae, then all would have to be, thereby removing the family status of Claroteidae on PC.

Shall we close this subject then?
