Hi guys, I know ur probably sick of helping people with I.Ds but unfortunately I have another one for you. I have been on the lookout for some kind of Pim. species for my 90 gal and I came across this guy who the guy only knew as some kind of Pim. I took a chance as he will take it back if its too big or something. Anyway I cant get a pic as all my cams are broke or I lost the lead. It is a Pim. as I say but I couldnt find it in the cat-e-log section. About 6-7" it is a grey/Baige with 2 lighter Baige lines running horizontally along its body. It also has 8 Barbels, 4 on the bottom of its mouth, 2 big ones to the side and 2 more pointing straight up above its mouth. Any help on this would be much appreciated

Sorry just forgot to put this in, It also has 2 quite large black circles on it with a tinge of yellow around them. These are just behind the head on each side and back towards the tail on each side, so 4 really sorry.

Hi there. With 8 barbels it's NO pim.
I'll have a look for you.

Thx Marc, the closest I could find to it was

This doesnt have the black circles though and the fish in the phots lines along the body ae slightly thinner.

Your picture indicates it might be , but that one lacks the black marking on the tail.
However, if the stripes are that obvious, it's very likely not M. pulcher.
Have a look at all Mystus species in the Cat-eLog.

Thx marc. Judging by that pic u sent it looks like the Pulcher which is worrying as I wanted to keep this with some Bichirs and 5-6" doesnt look big enough really. I will look through the Mystus family now. Thx it always helps when u look at the right family eh.

Btw, very fast work.

Hi guys, thx for all ur help. I am pretty certain it is a pulcher or rufescens/rufeceris, cant read my own writing. These two look very similar to me and it's had to tell as I dont think he has totally settled in the tank yet so hasnt reached his true colour etc...
