I was told these are Synodontis nyassae and I'm hoping I can get a posotive ID from someone from these pictures. I am building a 600G Malawi Tank and I want to keep it all 100% Malawi. I have heard of people being fooled by fakes and hybrids in the past and I don't want to be the next guy who spends $35 a fish for a fake. I don't have any reason to not believe that these cats are the real deal but I have seen a few Syno's that could pass as Nyassae in the Cat-elog.

Almost forgot what would be a good population of these to have in a 600G tank? I was thinking 4. The footprint of the tank is going to be 96"x48" with lots of rocks not only along the back but along the sides. I'll have Mbuna, Peacocks and Haps along with them in the tank. Thanks again.

Don't ask me why (superstition?) but even numbers don't seem to work for some reason. You surely have room for 5, which makes a nice group imo. But of course I can't look into your wallet .
