Chaetostoma are one of those homely fish that can really grow on you. I've only kept a group of six for a couple of years but I found them an enjoyable. They shared a 20L and would vie for the best hides much like a game of musical chairs.

Thomas,
In a word, yes and no. Please kindly read this thread. It may give you some insight about this group of fishes in general.
Thanks,
Amanda

LOL...that is why I decided to go with "sp." :D

I look in every "rubber lip" tank I can find, and it always seems that there is either extreme variance in the species, or quite a few different species...

I've got this guy/gal in a highly oxygenated tank(he's on the backglass with the bubblewall in the pics)Now, I try to give him lots of meaty foods (He lives with some young Altolamprologus calvus...pH is probably higher than it would like, and the temp is probably a little too warm, so he's on my "worry list"...

I used a common abbreviation for a 20 gal LONG.
The 12 X 12 X 30 inch style of twenty. Sorry about not making it clearer.
