i just bought (online ) 6 synodontis soloni. they are all between one and one and a half inched in length i've had them for a week and a half in a 30 gal long tank, ph is right around neutral, tank is maintained at 78 F, other parameters are excellent. they are extremely shy. i was expecting behavior along the lines of multipunctatus or petricola, namely once they got used to their surroundings they would be out at least a little (tank is kept very dim as this seems to be their preference) is there anything i can do to coax them out? they have plenty of hiding places, caves and driftwood. would some dither fish help? a bigger tank? i have a 72 gal bowfront i could move them to but is seems to me they would be lost in tank that big, anyone have any ideas?

Some dither fish would certainly help :D

The soloni i have kept in the past weren't as active as some others - (i would compare them to other non rift synos, so not as active as decorus, brichardi, pleurops).

Your setup seems fine - is there any obvious current/flow as this can also help with this species. I think they'll be fine & are still in a "settling in period".

Any chance of some photos?
