Novia otorongo

Hi to all,

May i know what is the real name of this Novia otorongo? Parauchenipterus sp or Trachelyopterus sp.

Is there any info on size for this fish? The Cat-elog doesn't have much info. The has always been my favourite, but this is definitely a very close second. I'm also assuming they are not easy to come by...

That quite true Martin, as those peruvian always name it as Novia otorongo, but they always send different fish as far as i know because thats what my LFS had experienced. I'm trying to search for more info too, will share when i have more info about this fish. Hope you too. :lol:

On what I've seen from pictures I don't think this is a very large species; I expect it to stay well below 20 cms SL. Behaviour will undoubtedly be like that of other woodcats, so have a look at for instance .
The best thing that can happen is information straight from keepers of this species; so feel free to add anything worthwhile.

Btw: at least your LFS got something :wink:.
