PM not working

Private messaging not working for me. I fill in the recipient field and the system keeps telling me that no recipient is specified. What gives?
It is quite different, can I check that you are doing the following...
a) Type recipient (e.g. Jools) into "to" field.
b) Click on add
c) Recipient appears above "to" field
d) Type a message
e) Click submit
Jools
