Hello everyone,
I've been lurking here for a while, but since my lovely common bristlenoses have produced about 26 offspring (last count), I thought I would sign up and ask for helps
I'm from Perth, Western Australia and I've had my two tanks set up since Christmas. I've been doing lots of research, but I still have a lot to learn...
My dream fish at the moment is the L168, it's so lovely!
I've presently got: 3 Yoyo Loaches, 2 Dwarf blue flame Gouramis, 2 Adult Common Bristlenose (I think one is the 'marbled' or piebald' variety), 2 Apistogramma Borellii (yellow-faced) and the above mentioned 26-ish Bristlenose fry.
I have a question, and I thought I'd ask it here because I can't find the forum for Bristlenoses (not sure where they're from!) and I'm sure the question has been asked a million times before:
I've just moved my fry (or, the majority) into the little 1ft tank that I keep my Apistogrammas in, after doing a 50% water change using water from the parent tank. (3ft) There's plenty of hidey-places and stuff in the little tank. I've been told by a few people whose opinions I find pretty reliable that the Apistogrammas won't harrass the bristlenose fry, one because they're not aggressive fish and two because the bristlenoses would be spiky and less than fun to eat. Is this true? Does anyone have any experience or advice in the matter? I've moved the apistos into the bigger tank for the night, because I don't want to take any chances (I thought they might be territorial if nothing else, they've been alone in this tank since I got them about a month ago), but is this necessary?
