Can I keep a Zebra Shovelnose in a 253g (7' x 2' x 29") tank?

HI Balton
Merodontotus tigrinus true name is Brachyplatystoma tigrinum with M tigrinus being a synonym
I can't see why not, although tank mates will have to be carefully chosen, so that they don't become a meal for it.
Also have you checked out the cat-eLog entry on

Thanks for the info and link. I got the scientific name on a google search for Zebra Shovelnose. The tankmates will be a Silver Arowana, some IT Dats and maybe a couple of Pike cichlids.
