Lost an old friend

A week ago I lost one of my oldest fish, an 18 yr old Pimlodella Pictus, knicknamed "The Troll" by my wife because he began his life living under a plastic bridge in my first tank. He was a good fish, by all accounts and except for some small neons that strangely went missing from his tank when he was very young...for which no evidence that he was involved ever surfaced... he was never known to molest even the smallest tankmates, even baby otto's were safe in his presence. He would defend his chosen cave against any and all, but never looked for trouble. He ended his life in the comfort of a 75G surrounded by friends. He is survived by his two life long companions, a Syno. Eupterus, "Mr. Ugly", and a clown pleco, "Yoda", all of whom began life together in my 1st tank, a 20H, 18 yrs ago........The family requests no flowers be sent. However cash donations to "The Troll Memorial Fund", proceeds of which will go towards future purchases, are being accepted.

Sorry for your loss. You did well keeping it that long, I would say.

Since Pim pictus aren't in the "Cory" family of South American catfishes, I've moved this to the more appropriate "South American Catfish(everything else)".

That sounds like a good lifespan for a pictus.
