Hi - just thought I would pop in and say hi. I am fairly new to fish in general but even newer to plecos. I bought a snowball pleco that I totally fell for but went on holiday and something went mad and when I came back she was very ill and didn't last the night. So sad but it made me go learn more about my fish and how to keep them.

I now have a L260 and L270, one has settled fine the other just isn't right but hopefully a bit of TLC will sort her out.

So our tank:

Fluval 200 litre tank
planted, bogwood, and some rocks
7 neon tetras
7 corys
L260
L270
3 harliquins (we want more so that they have a happy big crowd)
7 fancy tailed guppies
pair blue rams
pair double reds

In a seperate smaller tank I have a crowntail fighter called Killer!

Once it has settled down with the new L's I fancy another pleco - would love a snowball but noticed a peppermint one too....how to choose.

Happy easter x

I would choose the smaller species, the peppermint. Any small Ancistrus like L107 or Hypancistrus sp. Maybe add a few more Hypancistrus sp L262? The chances of breeding them gets better the more you have to work with.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to take my time. Let my tank settle down and then see what i fancy. I am loving plecos so much that I am thinking about having a pleco setup... I would love to try breeding them but one step at a time!

Jools - I noticed you are from the same part of the world as me. Where is the best lfs? I go to the Aquatic rooms on Leith Walk in Edinburgh and they are always really helpful but is there somewhere I am missing.

Thanks

K.
