Any ideas which species of Chaetostoma this is. I have three for about a year and they seem to be finished growing at 3 inches total lenght. Each has a large flat stone and they never stary far, like this one, although he/she is normally on the top of it.

I ruled out milesi on the size and weak pattenation on mine, but if you think so, I will go with that.
Thanks.

I don't think it it is milesi, Daragh.
Can't be sure though.

It looks to be C. milesi from Colombia with the caveat that C. milesi (as presently understood) very likely represents more than one valid sp.

It is much different than the Chaetostoma "thomasi" usually found in USA fish shops. This is a more attractive species but I think it is also a juvenile so whether it's present markings will remain the same, only time will tell. It may get much larger than C. "thomasi" or not. That I just couldn't begin to guess.
