Puntius denisonii

When I bought another 2 Corydoras melanotaenia the other day I got an 11 cms long specimen of Puntius denisonii for free. It was returned by someone who quitted fish keeping and the LFS owner thought it might add some colour to my tank (which it does actually). Now, before rushing to shops to find some more large specimens, I'd like to ask opinions of people who keep or have kept this one. Is it nippy (it's a barb after all), does it go along with catfishes, you name it. Fill me in pls.

It's not nippy and is quite shy as barbs go I find. Can be a bit delicate in my experience.

As a shoaling species, it could probably do with a few chums...

That's why I asked..... But don't worry, due to a no go on a new (well, 1977) Honda motorcycle and the more than doubtful status of the Peru shipment (less than 5%, which also means the LFS will no longer order there - so goodbye to Novia alligator :( ) I had a little extra money and bought another 5 specimens.
However, these are much smaller and in order to prevent them from becoming Auchenipteridae food, I had to put them in one of the smaller tanks for the time being.

PS: and of course due to my lack of patience, but that didn't generate any extra money so I couldn't squeeze it into the above sentence

For people who do not exactly know what this post is about, here's a nice picture.

I have 4 (wild caught) denesonii's and they are about 6 " now (full size) They are a fast shoaler and are doing very well with a variety of rainbows, clown loaches, bristlenose and otto's. They are well behaved, eating anything I put in the tank. (25C PH 7.6 GH 14)

They like a bit of spinach or peas, cooked and chopped, once a week, otherwise they will eat some soft plants.
I believe that a 4' (120cm) tank is a minimum requirement.

They are being spawned with hormone injection now in the East as far as I know.
