Just wanted to say hi.

Got a 100l tank at the moment with normal community fish in it (swordtails, etc). Will be purchasing a Roma 300 soon, and looking forward to doing some aquascaping and then finding suitable specimens to enlighten my life.

The 100l tank may go into the garage as a breeding tank, not sure how it will fair during summer and winter months though. Has anyone done this, do I have to lag the tank?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Welcome to planetcatfish.

If your garage is completely uninsulated, it probably won't be sufficient to keep the tank warm enough during winter.

I have a brick-built, unheated, fish-room outside of my house, and with 50mm insulation on the inside of the brick, it's sufficient to keep 6 tanks with about average heaters (my three 48" x 18" x 15" tanks have 300W heaters for about 190 liter of water, which some somewhat oversized, the other three tanks have heaters of approx 1W per liter).

I also have two "loft water storage tanks" with a 300W heater.

hum, rethink necessary then. it'll be a shame to retire a spare tank. I'll have a ponder, its gonna be a kitchen and bathroom first tho !
Thx
