i just got these two, i really love these fish, and hopefully i can breed these two

This is really great for you...let us know in the future how you do with these and the others you have...
What are your plans as far as housing them etc.

that is a cool catfish! There isn't much info in the cat e log for it. I'd be interested to know how you take care of him and how he lives also.

they will be going in a 40 gal breeder with a sand substrate, and plenty of rocks and sunken wood, with a pair of hemichromis cristatus to provide plents of live food for them with there fry, hopefully this works out well

I do hope the Hemichromis will not defend its fry too fiercely

Try to make sure the catfish have shelter the cichlid will not be able to enter - or als just provide very deep shelter, the cichlid will most likely not enter searching for predators

Some cichlids can be looking for revence, almost, when the fry is gone

I have a pair of Hemichromis lifalili in a tank twice the size of yours with sand ,lots of rocks made into caves,lots of wood and syno's instead of Parauchenoglanis...when they spawn they control about 1/3 of the tank...the problem comes when they start to move the fry around...not that they hurt the synodontis but the syno's fight(battle) among themselves when they get displaced.I just siphon out the cloud of fry and everything settles down quickly until two weeks later(if that) and it all starts over again.
I am going to try the same combo in a larger tank(120 plus) I am getting and then it should be okay.

well im hoping that these guys just eat the fry, i have never been able too breed these guys last time i got a bunch i had 4 different types in a 90 gal and i was trying to sort them out, when something went wrong and they died

I do not think the little snack they will get is worth the risk of physical damage in this size tank...unless they are tougher than I think...unfortunately I have not kept Parauchenoglanis myself

Very nice, how big are they? Mine's about 7/8" at the moment.
