Hello! Everyone :wink:
Have Anyone EVER Seen Any LEPTODORAS Before? They are the family of DORADIDAE, The Talking Catfish. I am REALLY INTERESTED in Any LEPTODORAS, but I have never seen any of them before, and I don't know as well WHERE I CAN GET SOME OF THEM. Does anyone know WHERE and WHO I can get some of them. Please! let me know. It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. :(

Best Regards;
Bunthid or Max :D

Only 2 people out of more than 800 have listed them in their My Cats, so they can't be very common. I'd get some myself if I saw them.

I have only ever seen 3 :(

2 were in a doradid collection owned by a guy in coventry 20 years ago or thereabouts - he had everything doradid that was available at the time & then some.

The other was at Maidenhead Wheately last year - it was there for a while, about £35 if memory serves me well - Chrysichthys - i thougt you might have seen it :?: This was the only one i have ever seen retail.

Yes I saw it too. From Peru I think. I think they sold it?

Not much help to you Callichthyidae, but I suggest you get hold a good Peru supplier and check their lists.

I don't remember seeing a Leptodoras but I bought an there about 8 months ago--could that have been it? It looks like a miniature Oxydoras niger. It was in a tank with a bunch of Microglanis iheringi.

LATER EDIT: It can't be very common, either. Apart from me only one person (corybreed) has listed it.

Yup, I've seen and kept them. They come in as contaminants normally with things like and .

No, it was one of these I think. Pretty unmistakeable!

Pretty odd and interesting looking Doradidae.
I sure haven't ever seen one.

Yes, definitely not the same--it's much more elongate. I must have missed that one.

If memory serves me correctly they had it identified as (second part of the name) something beginning with "c" which was not in cat-e-log but Racoll has correctly identified it methinks!
