C 41

Hi,

is there currently anyone keeping C 41?
I'm quite sure that I have two of them with a length of ~2,5cm.

Here's a picture of mine: http://www.l-welse.com/reviewpost/showp ... 1214594295
Can you confirm the C-number?
They were in the same tank with C. melini mixed with one C. metae, two C. axelrodi and those two guys, so I've first had a look on columbian species, but I didn't find any that would match.

Does anyone has more information than here in the Cat-eLog ?!
Which is the exact location (river) of origin?
I just found Brazil, Rondônia.
Which are the best water conditions?
Has anyone hatched those, does the adult fish show dichromatism like other species of the elegans group?

Thanks,
Karsten

There are currently three people who are registered My Cats keepers of this species. You could PM them if you have any questions.
Your pictures are very dark compared to those in the Cat-eLog but fish are always darker on a dark substrate. They look exactly like C041 but so do lots of corys! One for the Cory experts...
For more information you can search for the species from here on the species page at the bottom. -

To find the exact origin you would need someone who had actually been and caught them wild, or a reliable source from somewhere else.
Again you can PM people who have kept them about water conditions.
Do you mean sexual dimorphism? If so, only people who have kept groups or have seen groups will know. Sadly I don't.

Hi,

yes, I mean sexual dichromatism/dimorphism.
I've not yet seen this button, very useful. However the only new information that I found (I love Corydoras): "Notes:This species has been bred under aquarium conditions."
So it has been bred.

Yes, if no one answeres here I eventually mail the keepers directly.
Thanks.

Karsten

I guess you just have to wait for more people to look at this thead and post information. You could make the title of the thread more informative such as 'Any information on C041 please?'

Dichromatism is completely different to sexual dimorphism.

Hi,

I was not aware of the fact? that this term is not used in a biological sense in English (in German it is, although dimorphism is more commonly used), dichromatism would be more precise (at least I just wanted to refer to the colouration and not the shape in the first place).

However, is it possible to change the title of a thread (for a normal user I mean) ?!
