Hi,

I guess this post goes here. lol. I know little about these fish and since they basically stay inside their pvc lodging are rarely seen by me. About the only thing that coaxes them out, en masse, is a frozen bloodworm shower.

Recently found 3 clumps of eggs and then 2 others, which have now started to hatch and although they spend most of their time on the bottom, they are already swimming freely around the tank. Their yolk sac is huge, but appears to be absorbed rather quickly. The fry were quite active before hatching, twirling around steadily.

It's always nice to spawn something for the first time. It renews ones sense of wonder and awe. Well, for me anywayz. :) - Frank

Congrats on the spawning. I hope you will be able to raise as much fry as possible.

Frank,
I think we can officially say you have a "blue thumb." Are you this good with plants?

Hi Amanda.

Thanks. Only so-so with low light aquatic plants. Can't keep much else alive. Terrestrial plants - less than so-so, but I have a few nice pots on my dock, mainly because they come back for the most part, each year. I just stuff something in the bald spots. lol. - Frank

Hi Frank,
Congratulations. It is always something special to have one of the odd or rarer species breed for you. Sounds like they are very happy. Tatia perugiae are still on my "someday" list. First group caught a bug and cost me 20 of them. Discouraged me too much to run out and replace them.
