How often should I feed my Pictus?

hi everyone! new registered!

i just purchased 6 pictus today for the first time for my new 55g tank with dimmed lighting and driftwoods+pvc pipes (planning either on just having the pictus, or maybe adding 1 or 2 clown pleco).
i followed the advice from cat-log, and fed them frozen bloodworms so that they can become accustomed to the new tank climate -- and they all went berserk and ate all of them inastantly. and as the cat-elog mentions, their belly became huge like marbles! it also says that with those marble belly, they can happily live off for up to a week.

QUESTION: does this mean, in order to avoid overfeeding, i should feed my pictus once a week?

thanks in advance!

best,
Ebisu

Depends on their size. Smaller ones will need feeding more often than the more mature ones.

hi, and thanks for the fast reply!

they're around 3 inches (7.6 cm) or so. they're so amazing to watch - nothing like the other catfishes i have, so active even when the lights are on!

At three inches they are still quite small, so you probably want to feed them every other day or so. Basically, you'd want to check that the full belly has gone down to flat and then wait a day or so.
