Need suggestion for Zebra Pleco L46 Tank

I already introduce myself, so now I have few questions for experienced Zebra Pleco breeders.

In near future I going to buy few zebras, precisely 6-8 zebras.

So, my questions are:

1. what are the best dimension for my zebra tank, 6-8 zebras?
( is it better to be: deeper, wider, longer...? )

2. Is it better that I put them althogeter or to separate it to 2 of more tanks?
( I read that is better to be in group, but i rather ask one more time to check)

3. Is it better to have only glass on bottom or sand (granulation) or something else?

I really would like to make a good conditions for my zebra so thanks everone for answer.

and sorry for my mistakes in writing english Smile

1. The bigger the base area of the tank, the better. Deep water isn't necessary (although in nature they live at quite deep levels, about 15 meter or so).

2. I've heard that males are more successful in groups. As I don't keep the fish myself (if I had that much money, I would probably buy something else, even if they are stunning creatures).

3. There are arguments for both variants. I personally believe "with sand" is better than without. As to the granularity (size of the grains), I'd probably go for fine sand or fine gravel. Darker is probably better, as these fish aren't exactly used to living in bright conditions.

You should also read the information at our sister site http://www.zebrapleco.com . There are many articles and much discussion of the perfect parameters on the board. Hope that helps!
