Peckoltia / Hemiancistrus sabaji

Hi!!

I don't remember if this was already brought up...
In its revision work on Peckoltia Armbruster excluded Peckoltia sabaji from the genus mainly because phylogenic work show it was more closely related to Hemiancistrus...
on his website the fish is listed as Hemiancistrus sabaji... which would make sense as the German have them as an Ancistomus and Armbruster synonymised it with Hemiancistrus...

Cheers
Yann

Carl J. Ferraris' Checklist of Catfishes puts it in Peckoltia.

I would prefer to see it as a Hemiancistrus for the time being, although many Hemiancistrus species are predicted to be relocated to other new genuses in the future. If it stays in the Peckoltia genus it is ok with me as it has no big significance for fishkeepers.

It would seem (without much research) that the Peckoltia compta description confirms the location in P. sabaji.

So, I'm calling this one resolved, because:
No one has come forward with a compelling argument for the move.
Both CoF and Fishbase have this species under the Peckoltia genus.
Recent papers on Peckoltia species holds up the placement in Peckoltia.

Should this situation change, let's raise it again.
