Despite the text that goes with Entomocorus sp`llanos`, I think it actually is after all. The distribution seems to match, the black "gameroi" tail stripe is clearly visible in the picture and my male gameroi specimens also show completely black tails from time to time.

Actually, I totally agree. I "met" this fish in the llanos, but also found it displaying its silver colours in a nearby public aquarium. Now that I have kept the fish, it's really very much the same fish despite being so dissimilar looking at times.

As as side note, I also see a lot of llanos fishes for sale in the last month. This is a good thing. Will change this soon.

Hi!!

While browsing through the E. gameroi...and since I supposely received 3 speciemens... I am starting to wonder if it is indeed one!!

Mine are extremely dark/silver...the caudal is similar to gameroi but has an extra vertical band to the base of the caudal pedoncle...which is absent on E gameroi I have seen...also other are rather very clear and not so dark... so it makes me wonder if the fish is indeed a new species closely related to E. gameroi
Also noticed the fish has a thin black line running from the upper base of the caudal pedoncle up to the adipose fin (for sure) possibly to the dorsal fin...
Hyper extended pelvic fin are rather dark also
Any thought
Cheers

In that case I'd say E. gameroi - even without a picture.
