is it dust? but my tank is indoors. I try to do 405 water change every other day. but i notice these small particles, what could be causing these? can this harm my cories?

tank filtration is a powerhead with overhead filter bo xand 2 sponge filters.
tank is 75 gallon with 30 cories.
thanks.

I don't know what its official name is, but I've seen this in recently set up tanks as they mature.

I don't think it is harmful - certainly never did my fish any harm.

It stops after a few weeks (other species of "stuff" take over) and, if the conditions are suitable for their introduction, dwarf shrimp will make short work of it.

The stuff should come off easily enough, but I wouldn't go to town scrubbing everything clean - a spotlessly clean fish-tank is often a far from healthy fish-tank IMO.

In all probability it's diatoms.

yeah loosk like that, I get that in new tanks, it goes away as mysteriously as it comes. Does it brush off easily off the plants leaves?

I usually brush it off everything with hands and let it settle , do the tanks walls with the mag float, let it settle then suck it out during gravel vacs. When it eats up all the silica it goes away.
