i was wondering how long it would take my syno euptera to change out of its juvenile pattern and how long it takes for it to grow to full size...
he is about 2.5"-3"

my eupterus's grew very quickly. You could notice it almost every day it seemed. I boughtmine as babies 2 yrs ago and they were like 2 inches long and now they are probably 6 inches long. The colours change more slowly then the size. Mine are now charcoal gray and the spots are less pronounced but still there, like a faded back ground spot. They still keep their fin colours. They are beautiful as babies and adults. IMHO.

My (solitary) euptera showed similar development to Andywooloo's- from 2.5" to 8" (total length- she's just over 6" SL) in 2 years. I much prefer the adult colouration and fish shape (including the dorsal fin) to the somewhat strange-looking juveniles.
