I have fixed the immediate problem - and added another synonym. But I think Marc needs to have a look and see what the overall status of the synonyms are, as there are still some combinations missing - I'm not quite sure if all combinations are needed or not...

I've updated the synonyms, so I think they are complete now. There was after all only one (aside from misspellings, which I don't think we care about - Marc may want to comment on that one?)

Could you expand a little pls? I seem to have missed this entire thread. What is exactly the problem, which synonyms are you referring to etc. Thanks.

The original "break" was that
had a synonym with no year assigned. I fixed that immediately, and then left it to you to fill in remaining missing synonyms.
As of today, I was looking for "bugs" that doesn't need Jools to fix them, and found this one - so I looked again at the synonyms vs. what was on the Cat-eLog page, and I noticed that it was only one "proper" synonym missing - so I added that. There was also a "mystus tengra" or some such listed in fishbase. This is the bit I'm wondering what the "Cat-eLog rule" is - do we add "obviously a typo" type of synonyms, or not?

Below is the phrase that goes with misspellings:
! - Marks misspellings of the species names that must not be used.
and as such I have not included these synonyms.
However, apparent misspellings without the exclamation mark have been added.
And while at it, it may be of use to say that I never include initials of authors.

As I expected then.
Yes, we had the discussion on initials etc some time back, so unless I don't put initials unless I forget what I'm doing (when doing a few dozen updates in the Cat-eLog and a hundred occurrence data records, sometimes the concentration slips and a "copy'n'paste then remove initials" becomes just "copy'n'paste", or such). Thanks for the reminder.
