Is a 45x30x30cm (18"x12"x12") tank too small for breeding and raising Cory fry? The adults won't be housed in them all the time, I will have some larger stock tanks.

Should be fine, as long as the fry are moved on once they get too large.

I use 50x25x25 cm. for most of my corybreeding. They are very ok

I wanted to do a small setup that fits into the corner of my room. 1 150 Ltr stock tank, 2 80 Ltr growing tanks and 3 45x30x30cm breeding/rearing tanks.

Would this size tank be too smal to house S. barbatus on a permanent basis?

The smallest of the tanks you mention would be on the small side for S. barbatus. One of the 80 ltr. would be better.

The 10 gal tank is the best value in the US and is 20 X 10 X 12H inches. It is close to your tank in size. They make good breeding tanks for most Corydoras and starter tanks for the fry. Just large enough to support a number of fry and small enough to make feeding them easier. Then graduate a group of fry to a larger tank. This staged approach works better for me than spawning many Corydoras spp in larger tanks unless you have a large breeding group. Up to six average size Corydoras will breed in a 10 gal.and it is easy to keep a tank about that size clean.
