Are you asking what fish looks similar to Neosilurus ater and isn't Neosilurus ater?

The most common marine catfish is , but the obvious lines on most young specimens being sold means they don't look very much like N. ater other than eel-tailed body shape. The general body shape of catfish in the family Plotosidae gives them the name "eel-tailed catfishes".

thnx i think this might be it because it lives in marine waters. but the colour isnt the same. i could give a picture of it but they gave the 2 fish to our local zooo because noone would buy them.
