Hey up,

After reading the post on sexing corys, whichh was most helpful, I have a query on sexing Peppered Corys (Corydoras Paleatus). I have 4 specimens in my tank and having read in the post females are plumper than males I figure that I have 1 male and 3 females.....but to confirm this are there differences in colour? The plumper fish are a salmon pink colour with grey blotches, whereas the smaller one is two shades of grey.....Also is this a good configuration of fish to get them to breed if that is possible.

(click on link for species page) do have some colour difference in sexes but this is minimal & nothing like what you are describing.

when viewed from above females will be fuller (plump) in the body when in good condition, this can also be seen from the side. Peppered corys are AFAIK not salmon pink. (The pink albinos are bronze corys)

Is there a possibility of you posting a photo so we can give firmer opinions?

I'll have to work on a way to get some photos posted, don't own a camera myself
