today, i expanded my
'catfish horizons' with the purchase of 4
or at least that's what they were labeled as. Verrucosus & a coupla others seem very close, so i'll have to see if i can check they're all the same sp (if i can) & post some pics if i can lay my hands on a camera. I assume these are not often imported as the "my cats" registered keepers are few...

I was up at the crack of dawn today, with my little digital camera, waiting patiently.... (the tank is only lit by natural daylight)
For their extra security i had added half a dozen upturned miniature terracotta flowerpots & saucers before i introduced them & i could see a little bit of tail poking out this morning. With them having tiny mouths i added a little block of frozen lobster eggs as this seems to get a lot of fish going, including some hard to feed species & waited, & waited....& waited....then the tail disappeared from view

70 minutes & not a sniff of anything, so i went off to work.
Methinks this will be a waiting game..... & i bet the lil blighters have more patience than i do

I've got a little Ogliancistrus/Spectracanticus that I haven't seen out since it went into the tank that i've been dying to get on film to see if I can confirm the ID, so know how you feel.
What sort of size are they? I see SL is listed as 1.3", so guess they must be pretty small! Sound like an interesting little species, and would be good to see some real life shots in the cat-eLog for them.
Slightly OT but I bought home some lovely
Sawbwa resplendens (Asian rummynose, Naked microrasbora) yesterday for my smaller tank from my LFS - these would probably be ideal tankmakes for your new fish?

Ah, Sawbwa resplendes - very nice. Saw one of them at the Fishkeeping show on Hayling Island. Very nice looking fish.

I have got some crude pics that i need to post, but unfortunately 3 at least haven't survived - can't see the last one but there is a lot of cover - oh dear, never mind

That's a real shame
Do you know why, or is it just 'luck' if these survive or not?

No signs of anything externally upon purchase & seemed ok upon introduction to their tank (no other fish) as they hid & were light-shy. Not particularly active upon introduction of food stuff - frozen bloodworm etc, perhaps internal problems (?)
