I am in the process of working on gettin my little group of habrosus' to breed.. I am going to set up a clean 10 gallon tank, with a bit of java moss, (if I should) and keep it basically pretty empty.. planning on using a small sponge filter and an outside unit for more water flow.. I have many snails throughout my aquariums and not sure if I can find a chunk of moss that doesnt have either snails or snail eggs on it... Will the snails go after the cory eggs, or should I be ok....
If I need to keep it "clean" as it were, I suppose I could use synthetic mops...
Haven't had any success yet in their regular tank, but have some pygmy gouramis and a killie or two in that tank as well.. so i figured even if they had lain before, babies probably got taken careof...

I have malaysian trumpet snails in all my tanks and my tanks with cories in them have cory fry.

I do not know about other snails but I do not believe the MTS hurt them.

Well, if you ever want to get rid of snails and eggs, a good way to do it is use Jungle Clear Water. It's made of potassium permanganate. Put the plants (and decoration if they're snail infested) in a bucket and add enough to make the water a nice magenta color. I soaked some anacharis for a good hour, then rinsed it and added a good dose of dechlorinator (I use Amquel+) and left it for a week to soak and make sure there were no snails left and there is no sign what so ever of snails on them or in the container. I just put them in my new tank this afternoon. My two small tanks are over run with pond snails and when I finally break them down, I'll soak all the plants and decorations in them as well before reusing them.

I got this tip from another fish website and it has worked well for me - the one time it didn't was because I didn't make the solution strong enough or soak long enough, which is why I have all these f&^%#ing pond snails!

I have pond and Malayan Trumpet snails in my Corydoras habrosus breeding colony and I don't see where they have reduced the number of eggs at all. They are more of an eye sore than serious threat.

what i have heard is that snails are good for cleaning fungus of fertile eggs-i have alot of pond snails and i use them to eat leftover fry food and the ydo clean the eggs from my personal experience
