As Dave says, just me running some tests in the live environment. They'll be back to normal once I get to the bottom of the issue.

There is nothing better than testing in production

The cunning species name was well chosen.

Yup, it's the only way to fly. However, the issue doesn't appear to happen on the test rig, so to get to the bottom of it, it's got to be live.

Quite so,
I look after a wee system that takes 5 million hits a day, and 30 million (ish) database transactions.

Some folks just don't get it when I say that I can't quite emulate that in Dev / Test / QA (without some serious dollars  ), especially when the application automatically checks for double entries, so I cant just repeat things.

Some times you just gotta hope for the best!

Solved it by the way, pipe in mouth, shaking clenched fist, those pesky cached SQL queries! Cleaned out the live cache and it works. Now I just got to get rid of those image.

Number 6 incidentally was the character Number 6 from the TV series the prisoner. ("I am not a number I am a free man!").

I've moved this, as I don't think it ever was a real bug...

Thanks Mats.

You know how I was fretting over the bug that was at the root of this? Well, it's back and I don't understand why I had it working and now it is no longer working! A job for tomorrow.

Ah, the famous "undead" bug - no matter what you do, it comes back to you. Is there perhaps some more flushing needed to be done?

Mats,

There can't be, the whole cache system was nuked during the forum upgrade. I need to approach it (again) with a clear head tomorrow AM.
