29th January 2010 - Enhanced family pages

All,

In August 2008, I made a note to myself that adding the number of keepers together to show what are the most commonly kept genera in a given family would be a nice thing to do. Over two years later, I've gotten around to doing it. The screenshot below shows the three enhancements.
new_family_page.jpg
Purple: New link back to the families overview page
Green: We love stats! Total number of species, how many of those are being kept AND what that is a percentage of the species in the database for that family.
Red: The most popular 5 genera in that family (popular = most keepers) linked to that genus page.

Enjoy.

I wonder - would there be a way of finding out

-which is the largest fish in its family
-which is the largest fish in its genera?

Yes. The largest fish can be found by using the Cat-eLog search feature, and then selecting the family (& genus if needed), followed by setting the sort order to "Size".

For example this is a list of Peckoltia in size order.

Now, don't ask for a "smallest" size list... Can't do that as of right now...
