Normal story, went to LFS and saw these two different types of corydoras that I do not have.

Here is c xinguensis. Very similar to c polystictus, but, if I'm right, polystictus has a shorter and 'dumpier' body (I have c polystictus too) whereas this is longer and more slender in body.

Here is what I believe to be c ellisae although they were marked up as c errhardti. Can't be the latter as errhardti have round noses whereas these have long(ish) noses.

please can you check my ID's?

Thanks

Your first fish are close to C. xinguensis but in fact are an undescribed sp, C. xinguensis is a deep bodied fish like C. polystictus but has more uniform spotting all over the body.

Your second fish is indeed C. ellisae.

Looking at my Aqua-log All Corydoras catalogue, c xinguensis Variante A doe snot have spots all over the body, but only the head up to the dorsal region. It certainly seems much more slender than polystictus much like the fish I bought.

I've looked through Ian's site with no luck!

The link below goes to the picture of C. xinguensis on my site. This is the true fish the slim fish with most of the spottin on the front half of the body is an un-described species.
