Hey polkadot,

If you can get into the NUS Science Library, you can read all the DATZ you want (they have a subscription). When I was an undergrad and later a grad student, I used to look forward to reading DATZ there every month.

Hi Silurus,

Really? Then I'll get help from my NUS friends then! Btw, those are in german right? :(

Yes, it is. But it's always full of fantastic pics, so I guess the situation isn't all that bad if you can't read German.
Erm, the DATZ in the library are in the reference section, which means that they cannot leave the library. So your friends still can't help you much unless they can get you in.

Just got the copy yesterday. Very good articles. Hobbyist is keeping 5 Acanthicus hystrix around 60-90cm! and has bred them. He had 1000 frys.200 of them are now growing in their own tank.Basically you need space and very good water quality- that`s all. There are also good articles of breeding Hypancistrus inspector(L201) and Synodontis dhonti.

:!: Never mind that, someone tell Dinyar that S. dhonti has been bred!

A. adonis was bred in a public aquarium too.

I have now seen this article and also had an opportunity to discuss it with Erwin Schraml, who has done considerable research on Tanganyika Synodontis and works closely with DATZ. Erwin's opinion is that this is not a case of breeding S. dhonti but rather the now common case of artificial hybridization by commercial Czech breeders.

Interestingly, the article says nothing about actually breeding the fish.

Moral of the story: "Never accept crossed Czechs"!
