Hi,

I have 8 Corydoras Pygmaeus in a 20 gal community tank with 15 Cardinals and 3 Otos. The Cardinals are such excellent eaters that I'm concerned my Corys aren't getting enough. I feed them alternately a mix of frozen baby brine, frozen blood worms, and flake food every other day. I also drop a couple Algae Thins every so often.

How best to feed the Pygmy Corys?

Small, sinking tablets would be good.

Algae wafers are really not suitable food for Corys - it's not BAD for them, but ideal food it isn't.

BTW, I use the Algae Thins for the Otos but the Cardinals sure do crazy for them too.

Any sinking pellet or tablet style food should suffice but if it is quick softening it would be better - there are so many to choose from these days but tetra prima, tropical welsi gran, tropical supervit granulat, aquarian sinking pellets & sera viformo are all eaten by my pygmaeus

You may also find that a larger tablet, such a Tetra Tabimin or JBL NovoTabs work well - these sink to the bottom fairly quickly, and if you also feed some floating food (flakes or such), the tetras should be busy with that, and the corys get the sinking food.

The HBH soft and moist with Krill is also taken readily by Cories of all types and are soft and small enough that they should be fine for Pygmaeus.

Regular feeding newly hatched brine shrimp will get your Corydoras pygmeus into breeding condition which is peak condition even if breeding is not your primary concern.
