Thanks,

Probably internal parasites. Of course, if it's eating lots of zucchini, it will produce "zucchini sausages", but they are not stringy.

Jungle Parasite Clear or similar product is probably a good idea.

Ive tried levamisole, prazi and a metro course to no avail. I havent been feeding any fresh veggies only algae wafers and veggie bits(dry food) Do you still think I should go with the parasite clear. It has an ingredient that sounds like its in the flubendazole realm, which is good. Ive heard good things about flubendazole. Do you think flubendazole by itself would be the next step after the parasite clear, if I can find it?

Thanks,
Pat

Flubendazole is definitely one of the better antihelmithics (anti-parasite medication), but very "mild" on the fish being medicated.

You may want to just try feeding a slice of zucchini for a few weeks. It certainly will not hurt the fish, and it may help it. Don't be surprised if the fish don't "get" the idea until after some time, and also that the zucchini comes out quite soon after consumption - soem figures I've seen indicate that food passes through some plecos in as little as 45 minutes...

Is the zucchini a natural wormer? What is the importance of zucchini for this situation? :?

Not a wormer as such - it's just good for the fish to eat a bit of fibre, which is where zucchini is useful (along with several other vegetables)

Zucchini is a good "starter" vegetable that needs little work and is relatively "easy" to use - just slice a bit off and weigh it down - I use teaspoons, but there are special made weights, and all sorts of other methods - rubber band a rock is another one). Remove what isn't eaten after about 12 hours [at least until you get used to how much the fish will eat - if you feed the right amount, it should be gone after half a day or so, and then you can feed another portion.
