Brown algae eaters?

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a shoal of Otocinclus, as in the last month I've had a bloom of brown algae. The current "workforce" are a shoal of Corydoras aeneus, a pair of Panaque maccus and a Hemiancistrus guahiborum. Are there any better fish for the brown algae that are commonly available?

Thanks in advance,
Harry

is this a 'hair' algae or a 'flat' type - otos & ancistrus are both very good for flat types

its more of a flat type algae - I've had ancistrus before and they were great with the green algae, but they seemed to leave all the brown algae. Are there any species of ancistrus that are better than others with the brown algae?

Thanks
Harry

In my experience, Ancistrus will remove any brown algae.

in my experience ancistrus will just munch it down in a few days or in one night

but i would so otos are better because they go nuts over it!!
