Welcome.
There are some catfish that eat some types of snails - immediate thoughts are
and
- but both of these grow VERY LARGE .
The general "best" method of controlling snails is a combination of capture them [skin of melon or a piece of cucumber weighed down to sink for example is a good snail "trap"] to reduce a large population, and reduced feeding to keep the population down. Most problems with snails is caused by feeding too much.

Hi Kire and Welcome to Planet Catfish!
If you want to check out which cat your S. petricola is/isn't, you could post a picture in the 'What is my Catfish?" forum. Would also love to find out what your others are too

Some people here are really good at identifying other fish as well if you have some non-catfish mystery fish, just post those questions in the "Speak Easy" forum.
Cheers
