hello everyone, I found this website looking for some info on catfish for my tank. I have a 150 gallon tank 2 rena rx3 canister fiters, sand substrate and lots of caves and plants. I currently have 6 pictus cats(cutest things ever) and a albino pleco. I was wondering what other cat fish would be happy in by tank. love the website. i am not new to fish keeping have had my tank for 10 years and just had to move and got it all set up and i would like to keep cat fish i did cichlid before.

Welcome to PlanetCatfish
It is fun planning out a new tank and nice to see you going with manageable size cats even though it is a good sized tank.
What I can suggest to start is a group of
there are many species...in a tank this size I would even look at
these are often available. A group or two of 6 or more would be a good addition, along with some mid size tetras this could be a decent combo.
That is a tough thing to tell someone what they want...so many choices, another thing to think about is we could tell you many things but what is actually available to you?
If your albino pleco is one of these
they do get large fast and I would consider switching it out for one or a few of these

Thanks for the reply, i will look at those, i saw a iredencnet shark or they just called him pangasuus at a lps and so I looked up on the good old internet and it said the get 3-9 feet is that true? the one at the store was about 12". I thought he was cute.
My pleco I dont know ill try to get a pick and post it. Thanksyou

Yes,
grow large. None of the known species are small enough for reasonable home aquaria. The largest ever captured catfish is from this family, famously pictured in National Geographic:

They do look nice, but they are active swimmers and need plenty of space - and even the smaller ones that "only" grow to about 3 feet, they will need a bigger tank than 12ft long and 6ft wide - bigger to support their activity.
The fish you see in the shop are originally bred to become food, they are bred in large numbers in SE Asia, and a few get redirected to become aquatic trade fish (presumably because they can make a bit of extra money this way).
And the pleco is a bristlenose female. Good fish.
