Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps colouring question

Can anyone advise what sort of age a Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps should start developing the colour in its fins, as mine is approx 4-5 months old, doing very well but I cant see any red colour coming?

I will post a picture later for reference, once it wakes up and comes out from under the rocks.

Don't know about age, but when I got mine, @ 6 cm, they were more brightly colored than later, in an adult pattern

Are you certain about the species?

99% sure, I picked him up from Fishey Business in Portslade and they are very good about confirming the species and L number.

my Pterygoplichthys pardalis had more red in his fins when he was younger then when he got older.

I posted pics once here and was told he was ready to spawn when he had some orange red tips on his back tail fin. too bad he is in a tank with just eupterus.
