Just a quick note to tell you of my sucessful home breeding attempt.

I currently have a mating trio (MMF) in a breeding tank and 12 juveniles about 3 weeks old.

I will try to get some photos up soon but I don't wish to disturb them too much at the moment, save for daily 20% water changes.

Watch this space.

I am still very interested in this subject, as I keep M. iheringi, and the females are in extremely good condition.

I would be happy if the pics, data and the aquarium setup could be shared. Also details to where they spawn etc.

http://scotcat.com/factsheets/microglanis_iheringi.htmThis link gives some info on two accounts, but I would like to know more about how you did it, as there is not much detail.

I've seen an article on Shanes world mentioned, but have not been able to identify anything specific in Shanes world on breeding Microglanis spp.

I actually picked up a group of five and have them in their own 10 gallon (37 liter) tank. It is a sand substrate with a few caves and 4 inch (10cm) deep leaf litter. I'll give them several months to get fat and then start experimenting. Wish me luck.

Seriously considering doing the same with mine in a standard 90 L (22 gal).

I would like your ideas and thoughts on
1) Ideal gender ratio in this size tank
2) Flowrate of filter/pump
3) Temperature modification to induce breeding? (Have been keeping them at 23-24, just increased to 26½ C)
4) Tank furniture? They of course need hidingplaces, but any knowledge on their spawning ground.... Cave, sand/gravel nest, crevice...
