Need an ID for my 4 Synos

Hi,
18 month ago I bought 4 Synos from a privat owner.
They are 14 up to 16 cm tall and should be adults.
Hope the pics are good enough because they are not shy
but really fast. The only way to take some pics is to feed them.
One of the pics shows one of my 3 S. multipunctatus.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Michaela

Agreed - these are not a syno species but a hybrid between two separate species of synos.

Hi Michaela!

Yeah, the two big ones are hybrids for sure - no pure-bred syno has such a pattern on their dorsal and caudal fins (for one). Don't know where you stand on hybrids but I wanna say :( sorry...

Guys, is the multipunctata right? Looks genuine to me. Interesting spot arrangement.

I do not think the OP was questioning the ID on these.

It does have an interesting spot pattern, it is genuine but looks to me like , would have to make a count of the pectoral fin to say for sure.

Thank you, Birger. There must be something I am missing then: the title says 4 synos and I see two bigger hybrids and the small multipunctata/grandiops...

Hi there,
sorry for my really late reply.
Doesn´t matter that my 4 big Synos are Hybrids, ´cause they are so
interesting fishes. There are just two of my bigger Synos on the photos
´cause the other two are a little bit shy.

My Synodontis multipunctatus are from the Aqua Treff in Meerbusch,
Germany and they are wild caught fishes. So they should be genuine.
Some of my lake malawi cichlids are from the Aqua Treff, too.
Not really "cheap" but the fishes (WC) are in a very good conditions.

Michaela
