First timer!

OK so this is my 1st time posting on this forum so be gentle!! I am setting up a Vision 260 in the next 2-4 months and wanted some advice. My ideal set-up would be for a group of Queen Arabesque and wanted to know what the ideal set-up for these would be? I kept one in my previous tank in my early fishkeeping days but mixed it in with other plecs, peckoltias, hoplo and cories like a newbie idiot and it didn't last long!!

I really want to give this fish the right environment for a group of 5-6, thinking that will be plenty of space for them. I will then look to have fish from the same habitat as these for the mid-water, some tetra or pencilfish of some form. But the tank will be totally deidicated around the right circumstances for the QA's so was just hoping for some good, friendly advice. I have an external already on the tank but think I am going to run another aswell, to make sure the water is top notch!

if you click the link there is info & links to articles that should help you out. These are one of the more difficult to obtain L numbers (at the moment).

Welcome aboard. Dither fish are a great idea. Pencilfish won't do well with the kind of current you should have for . I've got various things as dithers, one of my Hypancistrus spawning tanks has Harlequin Rasboras in it and they do well with the current. Consider also cherry shrimp as they are good at getting at the food the plecos don't eat - and you have to feed Hypancistrus well.

One other thing that's not covered in many articles (and as Richard says, pretty much all you need to know can be found in them). With £500 or more of fish in one tank, run two heaters. Externals are good, but you may want an internal to increase the current.
